COVID GUIDELINES

Chitra Dental Clinic is committed to reducing the spread of the Novel SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus, and is following all the relevant regulations that the Government of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu, and the Dental Council of India have announced, and those that the Indian Dental Association has recommended.

The doctor will be in full PPE suit, with adequate masks, gloves, visors and goggles.  Procedures entailing high aerosol release are avoided.  All patients are subject to mandatory checks for temperature (with thermal guns), and pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation (with pulse oximeters), before admittance into the clinic.

In this trying time, we also direct all incoming patients to mandatorily wash their hands with soap and water before waiting and consultation.  We also provide fresh masks for all patients.  We insist on everyone cultivating the habit of regular sanitation of hands with soap and water, and/or with hand-sanitation alcohol.  Patients are mandated to gargle with standard povidone iodine mouthwash, provided in the clinic, before treatment commences.  The clinic is equipped with air purification system with High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters.  Please visit our Gallery to find out how we have worked towards maintaining safety.

We also believe in the importance of the 1.5 metre social distancing rule, which we abide to by directing patients to leave a space of one chair between themselves.  To avoid crowding in the clinic premises, and long waiting periods, we request you to call us on the landline numbers, by clicking here or by visiting the contact page, and make an appointment before visiting.

This virus affects the respiratory parts of the throat, which are in the vicinity of the dental region.  That means that we, as doctors and dental staff, face directly into this area, and thus may be most susceptible to it.  We urge that all patients with symptoms of the disease, or with contact with persons who have contracted the disease, remain at home and/or seek medical help from hospitals and the Chennai Corporation/Government of Tamil Nadu.

We thank you, and wish for your pink health and ours.

Regards,

Dr. Chitraa R Chandran & team.
